Student Wellbeing

At Plympton Primary School, we believe in nurturing not just academic success but also the social and emotional wellbeing of our students. Research shows that developing social and emotional skills leads to positive outcomes, and we are proud to action this.

CHERRY Values in Action

Our school is built on the CHERRY values: Care, Honesty, Excellence, Respect, Resilience, and You take Responsibility. These values form the foundation of everything we do. From classroom activities to playground interactions, our students and staff explore and practice these values every day.

Supporting Wellbeing Together

Our dedicated team, including the Pastoral Care Worker, Student Support Officers, and Assistant Principal, work together to ensure the wellbeing of our students, staff, and wider community. We offer a range of support services such as wellbeing programs, quiet spaces for reflection, and regular check-ins to create a caring and inclusive environment.

Engaging Learning Experiences

In the classroom, students engage with the Keeping Safe (Child Protection Curriculum) and age-appropriate social-emotional learning activities. Tailored small group programs are also available to meet individual needs, ensuring that every student feels supported and valued.

Supervised Supportive Play Times

We offer a variety of supervised play activities to encourage creativity, teamwork and physical activity, as well as supporting our students’ communication skills and social interactions. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to participate in basketball, craft club, board games, junior choir and junk band groups.

Get Involved

We encourage parents and carers to join us in fostering a culture of wellbeing. Whether it’s through volunteering, participating in school events, or implementing wellbeing practices at home, together we can empower our students to thrive academically and emotionally.
