Facility Hire

Plympton Primary School has a range of facilities available for approved community use outside of school hours. Our facilities may be suitable for sporting, recreational, cultural and community activities, subject to availability and approval by the school.

All hirers are required to enter into a formal hire agreement and comply with the conditions of use for Department for Education facilities.

Organisations hiring our facilities are required to hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million. This requirement does not apply to private parties.

Hall

Our school hall is conveniently located near our Keily Street entrance and is suitable for a range of sporting, recreational and community activities.

The hall includes:

• a full-size basketball court
• kitchen facilities
• heating and cooling
• toilets
• a limited number of tables and chairs, available by prior arrangement.

Oval and outdoor facilities

Our large, fenced school oval is located adjacent to Marion Road and provides a versatile outdoor space for sporting and recreational activities.

Facilities in this area include:

• football goals
• outdoor basketball/netball/tennis courts
• playground facilities
• access to toilets.

Important information for hirers

As our school is located within a residential community, we ask all hirers to use our facilities responsibly and with consideration for our neighbours.

Approved hirers are expected to use only the facilities and areas included in their booking and only during the agreed hire times. Activities must not create unreasonable noise or nuisance, and external doors to indoor facilities are to remain closed during activities except when required for entry and exit.

At the conclusion of each booking, hirers are responsible for leaving the facilities clean and tidy, switching off lights, heating and cooling, closing and securing doors and windows, and reporting any damage or issues to the school.

Additional requirements may apply depending on the nature of the activity, particularly where activities involve children and young people. These requirements will be outlined as part of the application and hire agreement process.

All bookings are subject to availability, school approval and completion of the required hire agreement.
