Our vision for Plympton Primary School is for a community of reflective learners, working together towards a common aim of 'Excellence in Education'.
Our school has a strong commitment to providing a balanced learning program that focuses on the acquisition of essential literacy, numeracy and social learning skills.
We provide a number of learning support programs including Co-ordination Improvement, Early Intervention Literacy, Special Education, and English as a Second Language Programs.
Sport remains a strong focus in the school with more than 40% of the students being involved in one of the team sports we offer. We make effective use of our large, on-site gymnasium, our small on-site swimming pool and the school grounds .
The school actively promotes involvement in the arts with its strong commitment to senior school choir.
Other services offered at the school include an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program and a canteen.
Plympton is the oldest state primary school in Adelaide still on its original site and tradition plays an important role in many school functions and events. Many old scholars' associations from various eras still meet regularly. There is strong community and parent involvement in the school and a rich diversity within the student population, with approximately 25% of children from non-English speaking backgrounds. Approximately 30% of our students qualify for school card assistance.
